The Vanity of Life

On the fourth of July I was watching the fireworks show. I reasoned that each rocket varies in glory and is magnificent in its own right. While some make up the whole, others stand out for their individual brilliance, yet all eventually fade away and are replaced by another.

Even so, all men whether small or great fade in glory and soon another will take their place. As bright as they shine, their glory darkens and they are forgotten. So keep in mind that the brilliance of your life is not forever.

Don’t be deceived into thinking that it is all about you. Give thanks for what God has given you, and be kind to people on your way up the ladder of life. Learn to live in the moment. Make the decision to smell the flowers, to see the beauty, and to touch the present.

I wish I had started using a final grade calculator earlier in my studies. It would have saved me from a lot of stress and confusion. Now I always use it before exams to make sure I know exactly what I need to achieve my target grade.

This post made me pause and think about how we chase goals and what truly matters in life. It reminded me of times during my university years when I felt overwhelmed and just wanted to write my college assignment so I could focus on the people and experiences that mattered most. It shows how balancing academic pressures with meaningful moments can really shape our perspective on life.
